These sampling systems connect all offline-analytical instruments to every bioreactor type, be it vessels from stainless steel, glass, or single-use; all can be equipped directly or in a bypass. The samples are piped through a sterile hose to the analytical instrument. All hose materials and the plastic or steel probes are produced in a cleanroom and pre-sterilised.

The sampling system bioPROBE is:

  • fully automated,
  • dead-volume-free,
  • working sterile,
  • capable of sampling volumes from 5 to 50 ml,
  • remote-controlled or has arbitrary sampling times,
  • using sample probes lengths, adapted to the specific bioreactor type,
  • working 24/7,

  • serviceable with the bbi-biotech’s remote service via web-application, and
  • adaptable to many different customer demands.

bioPROBE single

bioPROBE single is the entry-level automatic and sterile sampling system for taking samples from bioreactors and fermenters.

It requires little space on the bench and is easy to integrate into existing laboratory installations.

A sophisticated system design gives functionality and quality to the PAT of your process. The fixed connections between any type of bioreactor and the bioPROBE single are secured through an autoclaved sterile hose set.

The unit is mobile and can, therefore, be easily transferred to another fermenter/bioreactor. Part of the bioPROBE single system is also the SAM series handling system, together forming a closed and fully automatic sampling system.

bioPROBE’s sampling is dead-volume-free and sterile samples are taken at times pre-determined in the software. It contains a probe, a pump, a pneumatic unit, and comes with a control system, specially developed for sterile sampling procedures. A flushing system can also be integrated if needed.

The sample volume is the bare minimum required for further analytics and quality control. These can be from 2 ml, with no volume wasted in hoses or other parts the sample travels through. The sample is pushed/pulled by sterile gas, which also automatically cleans the hose system. The optional flushing further prevents sample contamination and falsification.

The perfect split of all transfer hoses of the bioPROBE quad allows automatic sampling from up to four bioreactors in parallel operation – at the same time and 24/7. This takes away the need for manual work during the bioprocess, which can be exhausting with tiny and crucial sampling intervals.

Every bioreactor has its separate fluid path, making mixing or corrupting the samples impossible.

The housing of the bioPROBE quad is designed to fit snugly under the xCUBIO bioreactor and doesn’t take up much space.
